Transformative Learning Wields The 21st Century Education in Asia
Technology has transformed first-hand knowledge sharing between countries and experts due to pervasive connectivity. Technology has had a significant and ongoing impact on how people live their lives, especially by the increasing uptake of mobile devices and a focus on digital experiences. The most significant difference is that technology has leveled the playing field in education and revolutionized the pursuit of knowledge. This influence has flowed into education in the 21st century, changing how people learn and training methods. Education in the 21st century has continued to expand well beyond conventional methods and scope, allowing students to learn anywhere and at any time.
Traditional educational roadblocks are being eliminated at a faster rate than ever before, resulting in a new reality of on-demand learning that can be tailored to individual demands. With 95 percent of students in the Philippines and Indonesia already using technology to complete classroom sessions, educational development has become as vast as the world wide web. Having to learn quickly and easily has become the mainstream courtesy of mobile devices, extending education closer to individuals who previously had limited access. Peer-to-peer learning promotes a talent-centric culture geared toward growth and drives motivation, whether it’s having discussions, creating solutions, or sharing and exchanging high-quality content. Individuals from diverse backgrounds can trade and come up with new ideas, strengthen ties, and promote collaboration by gaining more exposure outside of their current networks.
Subject barriers are also eroding in terms of personal and professional development. Finding the nearest institution to obtain the necessary training used to be the first step in developing an interest in a particular field. However, content has become more democratized to the point where students can now access a variety of resources and create their own personalized learning programs. Moreover, students are not limited to a single topic but can choose from a variety of options, allowing them to be as specialized or generalist whenever they like. This has resulted in a collaborative learning atmosphere that extends beyond the simple sharing of information over email. Students, teachers, trainers, and education ‘platform’ administrators all profit from this globalization.
It is evident that technology has modernized learning and allowed educational approaches to be re-evaluated and scaled to unprecedented levels. However, the most notable advantage of transformative learning is that it makes education accessible to all people. As new technology becomes available, it is critical that new tools be adopted and integrated into the curriculum in order to maximize the far-reaching potential of transformative learning in the 21st century.
