There is a strong emphasis at University of San Agustin on growing the esports community in many facets-as a club sport, in research and as an academic opportunity. The esports club, for one, is a great way to meet friends and compete all in one.
The semifinals round of AcadArena’s National Campus Open was won by the San Agustin Golden Eagle Esports Organization (SAGE Esports) from the University of San Agustin in Iloilo City.
In the competition, which began Oct. 10, 2020,
SAGE Esports overcame six other teams from Luzon schools in weekly League of
Legends rounds.Rumar Nelle Gascon, Nikko Wei Neo, Adrean Raganas, Joseph
Agustin Noble, Karlo Jette Jambre, and Hideki Sheen Ria form up the team.On
November 15, they will participate in the final round against another
campus-based team.Another semi-final round between the University of Santo
Tomas in Manila and Holy Angel University in Pampanga will determine their
finals rival.The winner of the finals will represent the Philippines at the
International e-Culture Festival, which will be held virtually from Seoul,
South Korea on Nov. 27-29, 2020
