Self-driving Taxis? Say no more, made possible by the company, Baidu.
Baidu, a Chinese multinational technology company, decided to launch the self-driving taxi service in downtown Shenzhen, setting its first design of the autonomous vehicles. Even though we are still in the era where people are still driving the wheels which symbolizes safety to all, with this it could literally change the future holds onto us.
According to China Daily, the features include the 50 different pick-up and drop-off stations in Shenzhen, a city numbering 13 million in population. It is a great help for some who wish to be relaxed and trouble-free when going to the destination they wish to go. This can be accessed through a smartphone app named Apollo Go.
Not only in Shenzhen that they will be able to see and experience the one of a kind invention but as well as in Beijing and it is set to hit the roads in the month of November, designating it as a “pilot area” wherein it could be used and trialed by companies who also gained approval from the authorities. However, the company, Baidu, is not the only company in China that provides self-driving taxi services. We also have companies like DeepRoute, Pony.ai, and AutoX who create robotic taxi services.
An invention that is bound for change. The amount of energy and even time we put up just to reach our journey. The doubts we think are impossible are made possible with the help of the advancement of technologies and minds behind it. Thanks to them.
