In 2020, the outbreak of CoVid-19 pandemic challenged Filipino people to create and develop online platforms and applications that would be the channel for making transactions. Academe is one of the most affected institutions by imposing restrictions and community quarantine which limits the capacity of learners and teachers to interact with each other. Due to the demand in education sector, various learning method was adapt and practiced. One of which is adaptive learning.
In the modern times, educators have worked to integrate technology into the classroom. The idea of adaptive learning is the delivery of education or training that makes use of data and technology to offer students personalized content while nimbly adapting to their learning requirements. Adaptive learning allows the course material to be customized to the learner, which creates a unique experience not available in traditional classes. Technology-based adaptive learning systems, often known as e-learning system, the most common used.


In relation, a non-governmental organization located at Quezon City, Metro Manila, Save the Children – Philippines, supports the Department of Education (DepEd) to maintain academic continuity and safeguards students, including marginalized groups like children with disabilities, those from indigenous families, and those who live in remote locations, from CoVid-19 pandemic.
The CEO of Save the Children Philippines, Atty. Alberto Muyot, appeals for support from the general public to help train teachers and non-teaching staff to handle new learning methods for the successful implementation of DepEd’s adaptive systems and to address the new needs of learners, such as low numeracy and literacy skills. They emphasized that great education should not be hindered by a pandemic and ensure that learners are not deprived of their right to education and to be protected at the same time.
Due to these challenges and changes, we are expected to be flexible, adaptive, learns to initiate, innovate, and optimize our resources with the aid of technology.
