Adobe made the announcement that its software, including Photoshop, would no longer use the Pantone colour system. The two businesses claimed that the change would not significantly impact workflows, but this does not appear to be the case.
The software conglomerate stated: Future software updates will no longer include the Pantone Colour Libraries that come preloaded in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Colour, and Adobe Capture as of March 2022.
So, exactly what does this imply? All Pantone Colour Books will soon be removed from Adobe’s software. You will receive a message informing you that areas of your work that contain Pantone colours, even if they are in files from 20 years ago, will be rendered in black.
What makes Pantone special is that its colours are extremely specific. For example, Pantone’s colour of the year is PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri which, no matter what, is a very specific colour.
