WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHEN YOU SAY FPS GAMES OR FIRST-PERSON SHOOTER GAMES?

Action video games in the first-person shooter (FPS) genre are played from the viewpoint of the main character. FPS games frequently simulate an actual player’s motions and give a glimpse of what they would see and do in-game
In first-person shooters, the protagonist’s arms are typically visible at the bottom of the screen, holding the available weapon. Using the game controller, the player is expected to move his avatar forward, backward, sideways, and so on. The avatar advances across the environment in response to forward controller motions, typically with a small left-right rocking motion to accurately mimic the human walk. In addition to the standard sound effects, many games also have breathing, and footstep sounds to raise the sense of realism.
HISTORY OF FIRST-PERSON SHOOTER GAMES
First-person shooters, sometimes known as FPS, are a type of action-packed shooter video games that are primarily focused on battle with projectile-firing weapons like guns and other firearms from a first-person perspective. With games like the Call of Duty and Halo franchises, which are huge successes for both
console and PC, or games like Counterstrike: Global Offensive, which has maintained its enormous fanbase and popularity over the past decade and thrived as an Esport, these games are frequently an entry point into video games today. But why are these games so well-liked?
For those who enjoy the thrill of shooting guns and immersing themselves in a virtual battleground, First-Person Shooters are where it’s at. It’s not just for the gun-nuts though — FPS games test your ‘gamer instincts’. The quickness of your reflexes, your awareness of the environment, and how well you coordinate with your team — you’ll need all of these in spades to win.
HOW FPS GAMES EVOLVED AND WHERE ARE THEY HEADED

For good reason, first-person shooter games have established themselves as a mainstay genre. One might enjoy playing them for a variety of reasons, such as the desire to shoot things, playing with others, or entering a state of flow and making accurate shots. There are ever more first-person shooter video games being released.
Over the years, first-person shooter games have developed steadily, and as greater technology has become available, so has the intricacy of these games. Early first-person shooter games were designed for systems with little processing power and no graphic cards or drives the idea hardly existed at the time.
The mechanics and aesthetics of first-person shooter games have evolved because of advances in hardware and software. One of the first first-person shooter games to prominently include 3D graphics was Quake III Arena, which made use of the quick inverse square root method. This makes it possible for the computer to calculate lighting and shading angles very quickly, which shortens the render time.
As years pass by FPS will keep on improving as more and more technology are being invented day by day improving the quality and graphics of games which will attract more players.
