“You can’t teach people everything they need to know. The best you can do is position them where they can find what they need to know when they need to know it.”
– Seymour Papert

A youngster is more likely to fully explain how your technology works, will be aware of the most recent features of your programs and devices, or may even use your smartphone in a situation you were unaware of. Children are introduced to technology for enjoyment at a very young age; as they grew older, they were able to use the entire gadget on their own. Children utilize that system to access their education, hobbies, communication, and career path options, and as they grow into adults, this invention will likely remain a part of their lives for the rest of their days.
Online class or online learning has been very beneficial for students since the pandemic started. Online learning has been considered as the “New normal” for most students and teachers even though online learning is easier compared to face to face classes, online learning also has its own advantages and disadvantages for students, teachers, and parents. The meaning of traditional classrooms has changed over the years, especially with technology infiltrating some and then all areas of the classroom environment.
From projectors to smart screens and everything in between, technology has changed classroom learning as we know it and now online learning is helping to change what we expect from learning environments, processes and experiences.
Advantages of online learning

Lessens the transportation cost. It is also more convenient for the student and teacher to study at home to lessen the expenses of transportation and buying of materials needed for school like books, uniforms, bags etc.
The increased flexibility of online learning is its main benefit. You may learn whenever, however, and wherever you choose. This just means that students who study online have greater freedom in terms of when, how, and where they study. It does not imply that they have a lighter effort. Due to its flexibility, online learning is highly popular among mature students who have other responsibilities like employment or children.
Educational Technology also made it easier to access. All you need to learn online is a computer with internet access. All of your study materials, lectures, and assignments are sent to you via email or some kind of file transfer system. Even your correspondence with teachers is wired, with e-mail and Skype video calls widely used. Modules and lessons can be also posted online on your choses domain like NEO LMS, Google classroom, Canva. Quizzes and exams can also be taken on online domains.
Lessens the chances of getting viruses. As of now we are still in a pandemic, it’s still dangerous for kids especially babies to go out and go to schools and interact face to face. Coronavirus is still spreading and more viruses are still spreading like the new virus “Monkeypox”. It is still dangerous and not safe for people to be going out and interacting.
Disadvantages of online learning

Internet connection. One of the most challenging parts in online learning is the internet connection, not everyone and every country can have a good internet connection just like the Philippines. Good internet connection is a must when you wanna engage in online learning. Every lesson and meeting with your teacher is online. Internet connection must be stable.
Not everyone can have a peaceful environment. Engaging online learning means you need to have your own privacy in order to focus and learn. Also not everyone can afford the device that we use for online learning. Not everyone is privileged like the others. Many students are forced to stop and skip a couple of years because they cant buy their own device.
Fewer Courses. There are certain drawbacks to an online education because the internet is still a relatively new phenomena and is still in its infancy as a technology. Online learning is just not appropriate for subjects like biology or chemistry that need practical practice. The use of
online learning has both benefits and drawbacks. With the information in this article, you will be able to choose between traditional classroom instruction and online learning.
Online learning can weaken the students’ social skills. Interaction with other students is required especially at a very young age. It can lessen the students’ charisma and skill to interact with others. Might affect their health towards expressing their emotions to other
people.
Things we can do to improve our educational system

Education has advanced significantly on the modernization path. Thanks to the introduction of new technology for instructors and students, many of the milestones that we have witnessed in this field have been attained. This is not shocking considering how prevalent digitalism is in our
modern society.
Today, a large number of tasks and activities that weren’t tech-required in the past are now tech-required. The expectation for the modern classroom is to use technology as a tool to improve student performance and achievement. The government has recently made significant
investments to encourage the use of technology in classrooms. introduction of digital programs that will have positive effects on students’ results and school improvement. The increasing commitment by the government in improving education through technology is often directed by perceived success based on assessment scoring, adhering to regulatory compliance, and finally performing well as a country against different nations.
However, technology can do so much more to improve schools. It can improve teachers’ and students’ wellbeing, empower parents’
involvement through effective communication, and last but not least, it can make learning more accessible. Teachers can efficiently plan classes with the aid of digital simulations and models, and they can also keep track of their students’ development. Software is available that allows
teachers to evaluate their students in real-time and receive feedback from them. Such software is designed to make it easier for teachers to keep track of all records, such as the number of learning assignments provided, how long it takes pupils to complete a problem, etc. It is a technique for
teachers to determine how long a given question takes from some pupils, if they are improving, and if not, what more efforts should be done to help them.
